Tea Party Flowers

During the school year I volunteer at an after school program in the 5th grade class. For one of the last days of the program we (the 5th grade crew which includes my mom and best friend) put on a tea party for the four girls. For the tea party we dressed up in fancy scarves and I made white flower hair clips for everyone. The tutorial I used can be found here.
I glued the flowers onto big bobby pins because I couldn't find alligator hair clips.
The tea party was a great time of encouraging the girls and sharing with them how they are special in God's sight!

The Traveler's Shorts

In preparation for my trip to the Czech Republic, I asked my mom to make me two pairs of pajama shorts; I actually ended up doing most of the work, but that's alright! I made the pattern for the western pair and then adjusted it for the ocean pair. They are great, simplicity and comfort at it's finest!

Birthday Bag #2

This is the second bag I made. It was for my friend Heather's 16th birthday. I used this pattern.

 I made the bag reversible, this is one side-

 

 

 

 This is the other side-

The bag has an elastic loop and a button on each side for a closure. It is a great bag, one of the easiest things I have made in a long while! It is the perfect bag for a beginner, only two pattern pieces, and it is super cute! I want to make one for myself!

Birthday Bag #1

Recently I made two bags for my friends who turned 16. This one was for my friend Caroline.

 

The fabric^

(the teal flowered fabric on the top is what I used for the lining of the bag).

I made it with teal fabric, her favorite color. Her sister thought the bag was from the store because I put crumpled newsprint inside of it, just like when you buy a bag from a store!

Blue Robin's Egg Dress

This is a dress I made for the little daughter of a lady in my pattern-making class. She picked out the material for me and it reminds me of robin's eggs!


The back has three bows. Underneath the bows are snaps that make getting the dress on super easy!




My favorite sleeve! The sleeve gathered with elastic is easy to sew and looks so cute on little girls.




A sash tied with a bow in front completes the outfit! My mom always told me that the second garment was easier to sew, and she is right! The hardest part of this dress was cutting it out!

Inspiration for my Models

To complete my pattern making course I have to find ten people, make clothes for them, and have them model my creations in my class's fashion show. This fills me with excitement and dread! I have approximately eight months to do all this.

This is inspiration for those who are going to model for me in the fashion show.
